I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and a Master’s Degree in Professional School Counseling from Tennessee State University. I hold an Educational Specialist in School Guidance and Counseling from Jacksonville State University. Prior to becoming a School Counselor, I worked as Manager of the Women’s Halfway Inn Program, Department of Corrections, State of Tennessee, Nashville, TN.
I have served as the Head Counselor and Senior Sponsor
at Elizabeth Andrews High School since August of 2002.

Mr. Mark Grier
I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University. I also received a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Alabama State University. I later earned my Specialist Degree in School Counseling from Troy State University in Phenix City, Alabama. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I was a Child and Adolescent Therapist and worked in hospitals and community agencies. I am a Georgia native and in my spare time, I enjoy traveling, sports, technology, movies and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy working with children and families and have a passion for encouraging and helping students reach their full potential.

Teia Thompson
My goal as an EAHS Professional School Counselor is to provide essential educational, personal/social and emotional guidance to all students. I believe in providing equitable access to rigorous college and career-ready curriculum to develop students into highly productive members of society. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Spelman College and a Master's Degree from Cambridge College. I have proudly served in DeKalb County School District since 2006.

I have been certified as a School Counselor since 2010. I received my Master’s Degree in Professional School Counseling from the University of West Georgia. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor’s in Sociology. Prior to becoming a School Counselor, I worked as a Drop-Out Prevention Specialist. I am originally from South Carolina. I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. I also enjoy outdoor concerts. I am PROUD MEMBER of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

It is with great enthusiasm that I serve the community of Elizabeth Andrews High School. I began my career as a Professional School Counselor here at EAHS in 2006. I began my post-secondary education at the University of West GA, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood education. I returned to the University of West where I received my Master’s Degree in Professional School Counseling. Shortly after, I attended Cambridge University to obtain my Specialist Degree in Leadership. Prior to becoming a Professional School Counselor, I was an Elementary School teacher in Clayton and DeKalb Counties. I am the proud mother of a wonderful son, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. My goal is to assist my students as they navigate through High School as well as advocate for them on their road to success.
