Food Giveaway, June 6th
 
There will be another big, food giveaway this Saturday @ 10a.m.  This distribution is a partnership between DeKalb County and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  The sites are conveniently located near many of our families neighborhoods.
 

Distribution sites are as follows:

  • Buck Godfrey Stadium, 2817 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur
  • James R. Hallford Stadium, 3789 Memorial College Ave., Clarkston
  • New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Road, Stonecrest

DeKalb Virtual Career Academy
The DeKalb County School District, DeKalb County Government and Georgia Piedmont Technical College have partnered to transform the county’s DeKalb Summer Youth Employment Program into the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy.

The program, which runs from June 1 to July 31, will provide career development, education enrichment and summer income for 850 youth, ages 14 to 24, who will be paid $9 per hour while learning online.

Governor Kemp's School Closure Announcement
 
Governor Kemp issued an Executive Order closing ALL Georgia public schools until April 24, 2020. Therefore, DeKalb County Schools will be closed through April 24, 2020 and will await further direction from the Governor’s Office and the Georgia Department of Education. Please see the document for more information.
 
 
Amended- Meal Service Plan
Beginning Monday, March 30, 2020, we will transition to a modified meal service plan. Under the new plan, meals will be distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Meals will no longer be delivered daily.  Students will receive a two-day meal package on each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as shown in the chart below:
 
 
The 21 meal distribution sites will remain operational and the bus meal delivery will continue following the amended plan of meal service on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
 

Region I- Cross Keys High, Sequoyah MS and John Robert Lewis ES

Region II- Idlewood ES, Avondale ES and Tucker MS 

Region III- Lithonia HS, Stephenson MS and Marbut ES 

Region IV- Clarkston HS, Freedom MS and Jolly ES 

Region V- Chapel Hill MS, Miller Grove MS and Narvie J. Harris ES 

Region VI- Bethune MS, Peachcrest ES and Canby Lane ES 

Region VII- McNair MS, Cedar Grove ES and Early Learning Center

Elizabeth Andrews High School is a member of Region VI.

For all arriving by car, meals will be brought out to students; they will not leave their vehicle.  Individuals arriving by foot or public transportation should avoid congregating in large groups.  There will be a walk-up area to pick up meals as ‘grab and go’.
